Lake Vallone: An Undiscovered Jewel of the Orobie Alps
Lake Vallone, a jewel of the Orobie
A hidden pearl among the rocks.
The experience
Lago del Vallone is one of those places that seem guarded by the mountain itself: a crystal basin set into a glacial bowl of rare beauty, at the foot of the rocky buttresses of Pizzo Torretta and the Corni di Sardegnana. Its water mirrors walls that drop sheer into the lake, and the landscape hangs suspended. With the Guidders we reach a corner that remains little known, where very few people go.
