The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the small village of San Nazzaro, in the Val Cavargna, and the path gains height in earnest through silent woods, clearings and high pastures. Along the route we come across trenches, evidence of a border past. As we climb the setting turns more alpine and wild, up to the final crest: the finest stretch, leading to the summit of Pizzo di Gino, with the view open over every valley around.
