WHY THIS HIKE

A summit, a giant swing and a famous hut

A hike combining spectacular views, wild nature and a touch of fun. The climb to Monte Berlinghera leads to one of the finest natural balconies of the upper Lake Como area, with Lake Como, Lake Mezzola and Valchiavenna all opening below us at once.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The trail, of moderate difficulty, winds through woods, historic mule tracks and open ridges, with just over 700 metres of ascent. At the top there is a giant panoramic swing: you sit, you push, and for a few seconds the lake is under your feet. It is the moment everyone photographs.

On the way back we descend a different trail and stop at the Baita del Vichingo, the most famous hut in the area, for a coffee or a beer before returning to the cars.

This is an intermediate hike: 700 metres of ascent over nine kilometres, on historic mule tracks and open ridges, with no technical sections. Bring boots, water and a packed lunch: there is no service at the top.

Come with the Guidders: book your place and let's climb the Berlinghera.

Outing on 26 September 2026
