The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Carona and climb through woods, scree and pasture to Rifugio Calvi, one of the most historic huts in the Orobie, and to Lago dei Curiosi, which appears all at once in a high basin. The view opens onto the peaks and glacial bowls all around. For the return we drop into the Val Sambuzza, where the valley's waterfall adds a lift just as your legs start to complain.

Arrival at Calvi Hut, the perfect place to take a break. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views over the surrounding valleys and the peaks of the Orobie Alps.

Lago dei Curiosi
You’ll reach Lake Curiosi, nestled among rocky slopes high in the mountains. Its waters mirror the sky and the surrounding peaks, creating a peaceful and breathtaking alpine setting. An ideal spot for a lunch break.

The descent into Val Sambuzza is accompanied all the way by ever-changing views.
