WHY THIS HIKE

Lake Perrin and Gran Cima at 3000m

A splendid day in the upper Val d'Ayas, heading towards Lake Perrin, a mirror of crystalline water located at 2650m in a panoramic position facing Monte Rosa. For those who are not content with resting on the shores of the lake, and perhaps taking a quick dip, the ascent to Gran Cima makes the day complete, with a 3000m peak that is not too challenging but fun, and strategically located for observing the endless surrounding peaks.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Alessandro, an environmental hiking guide with AIGAE, with 15 years of leading groups behind me. Mountains, hiking, trekking, trail running, cycling: I like anything you do outdoors on your own legs. In fifteen years I've learned one thing, but a good one — a group that feels good walks better than a fast group. I set off from Milan and head mostly for the trails of the Aosta Valley, Piedmont and Lombardy: three regions you can reach in a morning from here, and enough for a lifetime of outings that never repeat. I'm also available for activities on request, so if you have a route in mind we'll build it together. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
