WHY THIS TRIP
The metre-wide walkway a hundred metres up that was the world's most dangerous path
The Caminito del Rey is a metre-wide walkway fixed to the wall of the Chorro gorge, a hundred metres above the river. Built in 1905 for dam workers, it fell apart so badly that hikers died on it: closed in 2000, reopened in 2015 with a new walkway above the old one, which you can still see crumbling beneath your feet.
