Secret Val Tartano: Trekking to the Porcile Lakes and Mountain Trenches
The Porcile lakes in secret Val Tartano
Three turquoise lakes, and the trenches at the pass.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders into the heart of the Val Tartano, a secret Orobie valley where nature takes the lead and every step reveals something new. The walking is gentle and regular, on natural ground of earth and stone, and it leads to the Porcile lakes: three turquoise sheets of water set among the rocks. Only a short steeper section precedes the Passo di Tartano, where we come across the trenches and the view opens a full circle, from the Val Brembana to the Orobie summits.
5 reasons to come - the three Porcile lakes, turquoise among the rocks - mountain trenches at the pass - the full-circle view from the Passo di Tartano - a secret valley where you meet few people - gentle, regular walking suited to many
Who it suits Gentle walking with no significant difficulties, plus a short steeper section before the pass.
