The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Bagolino and climb a path that alternates woodland, pasture and steep sections to the summit of Dosso Alto. From up there the view opens across the mountains between Lombardy and Trentino, with the Valle Sabbia stretching out below. The descent follows the opposite side, so the circuit never repeats the same scenery. It is a long, tiring day, but one that gives back everything it asks for.

HOW TO GET THERE
08:00PARKING
Start from Bagolino
The hike sets off near Bagolino (Brescia) along a well-marked trail. It soon enters the forest, where the route becomes more scenic and starts climbing steadily.
12:00SUMMIT
Dosso Alto summit
You’ll reach the summit of Dosso Alto, the highest point of the hike. From here, enjoy a wide, spectacular 360° panorama with views over ridgelines and valleys.
13:00VIEWPOINT
Descent on the opposite side
The descent follows a different slope, steep at first and crossing mixed grassy and rocky terrain. Gradually, the trail becomes easier and more flowing as it leads back down to lower elevations.
15:30RETURN
Return to Bagolino
The final stretch follows trails and small roads back to the starting point. The loop ends with a complete and rewarding hike, varied between forests, ridges, and high-altitude views.
