The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Carate Urio on a loop that climbs gradually through chestnut woods, beech groves and old mountain paths looking out over the upper Lario. Step by step we reach Monte Colmegnone, a panoramic summit poised between Lake Como and the Valle Intelvi. Up there the evening colours open out and we stop for a shared aperitivo as the sun drops behind the mountains. Then we head back with head torches lit.
