The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Mandello del Lario and climb mule tracks, woods and mountain path up to the high pastures on the northern Grigna side, where Rifugio Bietti-Buzzi is waiting. Higher still we touch the Bocchetta di Prada, with Lake Como stretching out below us the whole way up. It is a long line with a height gain you feel: what you get is a complete climb, from valley to high ground, the kind that makes you understand where you have arrived.

The hike starts in Somana, a hamlet of Mandello del Lario.

Bietti Buzzi Mountain Hut
We arrive at Bietti Buzzi Mountain Hut, in the heart of the Northern Grigna.
13:45PASS
Prada Pass
After a break at the mountain hut, we continue on to Prada Pass and the most beautiful natural arch in Lombardy, completing a fantastic circular hike.
17:00RETURN
Return to starting point
The hike ends as you return to the starting point. The last meters are easy, between trail and nearby settlement (indicative data). A complete trek with steady climbing and increasingly wide views up to the highest point.
