A hike to experience the mountains in the most evocative hours of the day. We start from Lerano, above Predore, and climb the trails crossing woods and panoramic ridges overlooking Lake Iseo.

The experience

After passing the Croce di Predore we reach the summit of Monte Bronzone (1,334 m), one of the most spectacular natural terraces in the area. Here we stop to watch the sunset, when the sun turns the lake, the Po plain and the surrounding pre-Alps red.

With the evening light the descent begins: 11 kilometres and 900 metres of total ascent, returning in the dark along the same route. This is the outing for anyone wanting something different from the usual Sunday walk.

This is an intermediate hike: 900 metres of ascent over eleven kilometres, with no technical sections but a return in the dark. A head torch is mandatory, plus a windproof jacket, boots and a packed dinner to eat at the summit.

We meet the Guidders at the Alpini chapel in Lerano, above Viadanica (BG). A check on torches and jackets, then we set off in the afternoon to reach the summit at sunset. The time follows the season: the exact one is shared in the outing's Telegram group.

After woods, panoramic ridges and the Croce di Predore we reach the top. We stop for a packed dinner and for the sunset: the sun turns Lake Iseo, the Po plain and the surrounding pre-Alps red.
22:00RETURN
Back down with head torches
We descend with head torches along the same route, the lights of the lakeside villages coming on below us. At the cars we take our time to say goodbye.
