The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Piani d'Erna, above Lecco, and reach Monte Magnodeno through woods, clearings and a panoramic ridge that opens onto the Lecco mountains. The path is pleasant throughout with no particular difficulties, and carries us to the top, where we wait together for one of the finest sunsets around. Then we head back by night, head torches on and the lake slowly going dark below us.
