WHY THIS CLIMB

Winter ascent of the Grignone

Three segments, three atmospheres, one summit.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Balisio for the winter ascent of the northern Grigna, a mountaineering day for anyone who wants these mountains at their most genuine.

First section. From Rifugio Pialeral to the Bivacco Riva Girani: hard work but with nothing technical, a steady and increasingly panoramic climb. Second section. From the bivouac we enter real winter terrain, between snow and crests. Third section. The final pull leads to Rifugio Brioschi, on the summit of the Grignone, with the view turning a full circle over the Lecco mountains.

5 reasons to come - the highest summit of the Grigne, in winter - Rifugio Brioschi right on the top - the Bivacco Riva Girani halfway up - crests and snow in the upper section - a full-circle view over the Lecco mountains

Who it suits A demanding winter ascent: ice axe, crampons, experience of moving on snow and excellent fitness are needed.

The Grignone in winter is another mountain: come with the Guidders.
