Ponti Hut and Predarossa Valley: A Spectacular Trek at the Foot of Monte Disgrazia

A glacial plain at the foot of the Disgrazia.

One of the most iconic walks in the Val Masino leads into the heart of the Predarossa valley, at the foot of Monte Disgrazia. We start on the great glacial plain, one of the most captivating natural settings in Lombardy: alpine meadows, rock polished by the glacier and the walls of the massif dominating the valley. As we climb the landscape grows wilder; the last section turns more alpine and rocky, but holds no difficulty for anyone used to walking. At the top stands Rifugio Cesare Ponti, with a privileged view of the granite peaks, and the best break of the day: pizzoccheri and cold beer before the loop back down.
