The experience

We set off with the Guidders from San Simone, in the Valleve area, and climb towards Monte Pegherolo through high pastures and open slopes, until we gain the ridge that leads to the top: the finest section, with space falling away on both sides and the Orobie all around. We come back down the same ridge, taking in the view from the other direction. It is a solid outing, where the effort is repaid by a wide view over peaks and valley.

HOW TO GET THERE

Start from San Simone
Starting from the San Simone area (Bergamo), we immediately take the trail that leads away from the ski lifts.
10:00VIEWPOINT
Ridge section
The route approaches the ridge, entering a more alpine environment. The trail follows the terrain profile with ups and downs and slightly exposed sections, though never technical. Views open up to 360°, revealing the surrounding peaks.
11:30SUMMIT
Monte Pegherolo summit
Once you reach the summit of Monte Pegherolo, you are rewarded with sweeping, open views across the entire area. On clear days, your gaze can wander far into the distance, across valleys and Alpine peaks.
12:00VIEWPOINT
Descent from the ridge
For the descent, you follow the ridge back, enjoying the same spectacular views once again—this time from the opposite perspective.
15:00RETURN
Return to San Simone
The final stretch follows an easy trail back to the starting area. You return to San Simone, completing a full hike through meadows, ridges, and high-altitude terrain, with significant elevation gain and great satisfaction.
