Mount Timogno, Benfit, and Vigna Vaga: A Panoramic Traverse of the Orobie Alps
Timogno, Benfit and Vigna Vaga traverse
Three linked summits, above the Val Seriana.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Spiazzi di Gromo and climb through woods and pastures to Rifugio Vodala, set on one of the finest balconies in the valley. From there the ridge leads to the summit of Monte Timogno, then Cima Benfit, the Passo degli Omini and Monte Avert: a high-level chain with the view constantly open across the Bergamo Orobie. Then we return to the Spiazzi.
5 reasons to come - three linked summits in a single route - Rifugio Vodala and its balcony over the valley - the panoramic ridge between Timogno and Benfit - the Passo degli Omini along the way - one of the most panoramic treks in the Val Seriana
Who it suits A long high-level route with several climbs: good fitness and a sure step are needed.
Summits in a row, one after another: come and take them with the Guidders.
