WHY THIS HIKE

Spalavera-Morissolo: double peak

Two peaks, one loop, views over Lake Maggiore you won't expect.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Il Colle and climb through woods and meadows up to Monte Morissolo, an easy first taste of altitude. The trail continues gently toward Monte Spalavera, a wide path that gains height smoothly while the views over the lake and valleys keep opening up. We head back down to Il Colle, closing our loop with happy legs and eyes full of green and blue.

We walk along the traces of the Cadorna Line, the WWI fortifications carved into these mountains: strongholds, trenches and lookout posts telling a real story written in the rock. On the way down from Morissolo we can stop at the charming Libreria Alpe Colle, perfect for an aperitivo with a view.

5 reasons to join - two summits in one loop, without excessive effort - wide views over Lake Maggiore - WWI history right under your feet - a tasty stop at Libreria Alpe Colle - suitable even for beginners

Who it's for An outing open to everyone: you just need basic fitness and a taste for uphill walking, no technical difficulty involved.

Book with the Guidders and come discover this corner of Val Grande with us!

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Dario, an environmental hiking guide and a beekeeper. 🐝 The mountains are my home: between trekking, trail running and mountaineering I'm out looking for new adventures to live and share every day. I love exploring trails, finding hidden corners and watching nature with curiosity, respect and passion — things that beekeeping taught me to look at very close up. Taking people out is what excites me most: seeing the astonishment in someone's eyes when they reach a summit, cross a wood or discover something new makes every outing special. My goal? To give you real experiences, where the journey counts as much as the destination, always with a smile and in good company. 🌲 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
