A route through waterfalls, alpine pastures and iconic refuges, with magnificent views of Monte Rosa and the Margherita Hut that dominates the alpine horizon.

The experience

We will depart from Alagna Valsesia with a shuttle that will take us to the Acqua Bianca Waterfall, where our ascent into the wild nature will begin. We will reach the charming Alpe Testanera, and then arrive at the iconic Barba Ferrero Refuge, an exceptional panoramic viewpoint.

After a refreshing break, we will descend towards Alpe Pile and the Pastore Refuge, closing our beautiful tour in the Alta Valsesia Natural Park, among larches, streams and breathtaking views.

We'll arrive here by shuttle, and from here we'll set off on a rewarding climb to Alpe Testanera.

Barba Ferrero Mountain Hut
"From Alpe Testanera, we'll traverse across the mountain before descending to the iconic Rifugio Barba Ferrero for a well-deserved break."

Pastore Refuge Hike and Return
From the Barba Ferrero mountain hut, we'll descend into the valley, passing by another important hut in the Sesia Valley: Il Pastore. From there, we'll take a short detour to see the "Caldaie del Sesia" (Sesia's Potholes) before returning to the parking area where our shuttle will be waiting to take us back to Alagna.
