Madeira in 8 days: levadas, canyoning, whales and villas with a pool over the ocean

From the Pico do Areiro viewpoint above the clouds to the little houses of Santana, from the 25 Fontes waterfalls to the natural pools of Porto Moniz: every day the island shows a different face. You walk along the levadas, the water channels cutting through the forest, drop into the gorges of Ribeiro Frio on a canyoning session, sail out on a catamaran to spot dolphins and whales and finish with a day on Porto Santo, the golden island.

Home base is a set of villas with private pool and ocean view: welcome dinners, barbecues under the stars and evenings that run late. Picnics over the sea, fresh fish in Seixal and Porto Moniz, sunset aperitivo after the catamaran.
