The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Civate and climb hard to Corno Birone, then along the crest to Monte Rai and finally the Cornizzolo. The crests are hugely panoramic and the views range from the Grigne to the Brianza lakes: a mix of effort, satisfaction and postcard scenery. Halfway round, the stop at Rifugio Consiglieri, with local cooking and a warm atmosphere, recharges the legs for the final section.
