WHY THIS HIKE

Erdemolo: the heart-shaped lake

A heart-shaped lake, right in the middle of the Lagorai range, lit up by autumn colors.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Frotten, in Valle dei Mòcheni, and climb through woods that, at the end of the season, offer the full palette of foliage colors. The trail gains altitude steadily, with ups and downs and steeper stretches that keep the climb lively, until it opens onto the basin where Lake Erdemolo appears. The route is a loop: it continues toward the Sette Selle Refuge before descending, with the golden afternoon light accompanying the entire way back.

The lake is famous for its rare heart shape and for the small snowfield that, in the colder seasons, seems to plunge straight into the water; while the Sette Selle refuge is the icing on the cake of an amphitheater made of porphyry and jagged peaks

5 reasons to come

- the wild and unspoiled environment of the Lagorai - the heart-shaped lake, one of a kind - the autumn foliage of the Lagorai in full golden light - the optional lunch at the Sette Selle Refuge - a genuine loop, scenic from start to finish

Who it's suitable for A steady step and good fitness are required: there are steep stretches uphill and downhill, but no technical passages.

Come discover the Erdemolo with the Guidders: book your spot and let's set off together.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Filippo, a Mountain Leader! Born and raised in a small village in Trentino, surrounded by mountains and woods, I developed a passion for sports and outdoor activities from an early age. As I grew up, though, the frenzy of competition gave way to the peace and silence of the mountains, where, step by step, I found myself. The idea of turning guiding into a profession came from shared experiences with friends and family, who always manage to show me the mountains from a different perspective, as if it were the first time all over again. This is how I try to live every mountain experience, with no intention of teaching anyone anything, but with the desire to share moments capable of creating memories and deep bonds. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
