The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Alpe del Vicerè, above Albavilla, and climb towards Monte Bolettone, one of the loveliest and most accessible summits in the Larian Triangle: a natural balcony over Lake Como, the Brianza and the Lombard pre-Alps. What makes this circuit is that it does not settle for the direct climb: we pass the Bocchetta di Molina, take the summit and come down in a loop by the Bocchetta di Lemna and Capanna Mara, on a far more varied route.

We start our adventure from Alpe del Vicerè, in the municipality of Albavilla, one of the most beautiful and easily accessible gateways to the Larian Triangle. The beginning is instantly rewarding: we'll enter the woods along mule tracks and wide paths, perfect for finding your stride without overdoing it.

Molina Pass
This is where the day takes on a more trekking-focused feel. We'll gain altitude with a steady climb that's never monotonous, winding through forests, switchbacks, and gradually opening sections. You'll really feel the sense of progression towards the summit here, but without venturing into technical terrain.
19:30VIEWPOINT
Summiting Mount Bollettone
Reaching the summit of Monte Bollettone (around 1320m) is the absolute highlight of this hike. The panoramic views open up dramatically, revealing Lake Como, the Brianza region, the lakes of Brianza, and the surrounding mountains. It's the classic viewpoint that truly rewards the uphill climb and makes this trek feel even more significant than the elevation gain suggests.

Loop Hike via Bocchetta di Lemna and Capanna Mara
The return leg is what makes this trek truly complete. We'll descend, closing the loop through a beautiful landscape, passing by Bocchetta di Lemna, Rifugio Capanna Mara, and scenic trails through the woods.

Back to the trailhead.
We'll head back to the cars after a long but spectacular loop hike.
