Hike to Rifugio Albani: Presolana Trek in the Orobie Alps

Ever dreamed of walking with the Presolana right in front of you? Today's the day: we climb, we push, we arrive. And the view rewards every single step.
We start from the cable car parking area in Carbonera, in the morning, ready to warm up our legs. It begins with a steep paved road, no shortcuts there, then the forest welcomes us with some shade. We cross the Rino stream on a wooden bridge, keep climbing along the narrow Orobie trails, until the woods open up and she appears: the north face of the Presolana, massive, right in front of us. Soon after, the silhouette of Rifugio Albani comes into view, at 1939 meters, the last stop on the Sentiero delle Orobie, known for its authentic Bergamo-style cuisine.
