Hike to Piani di Bobbio and Rifugio Stella: a scenic, authentic mountain experience among alpine meadows and ridgelines
Piani di Bobbio and the Stella Hut
In a few kilometres you step into another world.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Valtorta and climb towards the Piani di Bobbio on grassy tracks and mountain path, with wide views over the Bergamo and Lecco pre-Alps. We pass close to Passo del Cedrino and reach Rifugio Stella, in open country made of pasture, ridgelines and summit profiles such as Monte Chiavello. The balance is what makes it: a route within reach that still puts you inside a high-mountain atmosphere, with real huts and space all around.
5 reasons to come - the open view between Valtorta and the Piani di Bobbio - Rifugio Stella as a solid objective - Passo del Cedrino and the grassy ridges - Monte Chiavello closing the horizon - an outing that fits neatly into half a day
Who it suits A short route but with a steady climb, some steep sections and ground that can be slippery in wet grass or mud.
High-mountain air without a whole day: join the Guidders.
