The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Croce di Salven, above Borno, and climb through firs and clearings to Rifugio San Fermo, then on to the junction for the summit. From there the real climb begins: we work up the steep grassy slope towards the crest, and on the final stretch hands go onto the rock, with slightly exposed passages and easy scrambling. After several ups and downs we reach Cima Moren, and the return passes the little church of Val Moren.

After parking in the roadside spaces, we'll meet at Croce di Salven - Borno (BS) to begin our hike.
09:30MOUNTAIN HUT
San Fermo Mountain Hut
After a steep but steady climb, with a few level stretches to catch your breath, we'll reach the San Fermo alpine hut and refuge (closed during the winter months).
12:30SUMMIT
"Summit Moren" or "Mount Moren"
We made it to the summit!
14:30CHURCH
Val Moren Chapel
From here, the trail gently eases, giving your tired legs a welcome rest.
