Camoscellahorn: autumn ring hike in Val Bognanco past hidden lakes

One loop, three lakes, a 2612m summit above the scree of Passo Monscera.

We set off with the Guidders from San Bernardo, in Val Bognanco, while the woods glow gold with autumn colours. We climb steadily through pastures and huts to Alpe Arza, passing its small lake, then the stunning Gattascosa peat bog and Lago di Ragozza. The loop continues toward Lago di Monscera and the pass, where the landscape opens up and the final climb gets serious: the last stretch to Camoscellahorn crosses a wide scree slope, real mountain terrain taken one step at a time. From the top, the loop closes back down the same scenic side that brought us up.

Anyone who'd rather not push to the summit can stop at Passo Monscera and still enjoy the full loop: this mountain lets you choose your own adventure.
