The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Morteratsch, near Pontresina in the Upper Engadine, and climb towards Chamanna da Boval through larches, scree and ever-wider views across the Val Morteratsch. The path is clear but steep in places, with rock steps and loose stones: we take it calmly. Higher up the view widens onto the Morteratsch glacier and the great peaks of the Bernina group, and the hut becomes the place to take all that in with something warm in your hands. This is a glacial landscape that genuinely moves, right in front of you.

Arrival at the Boval Hut, at حوالي 2,494 metres. From the hut, you can admire Piz Bernina, Piz Bianco, Piz Zupò, and the entire Morteratsch Glacier.
