The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Civo and the climb rises hard through the woods to Alpe Visogno, where the view opens all at once: Monte Legnone, the Val Gerola, the Val Tartano and the whole Orobie ridge, and on clear days even beyond. From there we carry on to the Bivacco Bottani-Cornaggia, perched in the glacial zone at the foot of the Cima di Malvedello: a place that gives you a true sense of the mountains straight away.

HOW TO GET THERE

We'll start from the parking area in Poira di Civo (SO). The first part of the trail winds through the woods, leading us to Alpe Visogno, where we can admire stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the Alps.

Bottani Hut
After a refreshing break at Alpe Visogno, we'll traverse a flat section before tackling the final ascent to our day's destination: the Bottani Bivouac.
12:00BIVOUAC
Bottani Bivouac
Having reached the Bottani Bivouac, we'll enjoy lunch with breathtaking views of the Valtellina mountains. After feasting our eyes and souls on the beauty, we'll begin our descent, retracing our steps along the same path.

Return to the vehicles following the same trail we hiked in.
