The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Balisio, in the Valsassina, and climb through the woods to Rifugio Antonietta al Pialeral, right beneath the walls of the Grignone. We walk mountain path and stretches of forestry track, with a steady climb on ground that can be damp or slippery. Clearings and barns open along the way, and the higher we go the wider the view over the Valsassina. You reach the hut wanting to stay a while: the atmosphere is the honest kind.

Starting from Balisio (Lecco), you immediately follow a well-marked trail as it leads into the forest.
11:40VIEWPOINT
Final climb to Pialeral
The final stretch is a gentler but steady climb on a clear path. You gradually leave the forest behind as the landscape opens up, typical of the Pialeral area. You can feel the destination getting close.
12:15MOUNTAIN HUT
Rifugio Antonietta at Pialeral
We arrive at Rifugio Antonietta al Pialeral (approx. 1,375 m). Wide open spaces and beautiful views of the Grigne make this the perfect spot for a break. Ideal for enjoying a bite to eat and relaxing before heading back.

Return to Balisio
We return to the cars after a wonderful day spent together.
