A pearl set among the high peaks of the Orobie Valtellinesi: Lake Zancone
Lake Zancone in the Orobie Valtellinesi
This route takes us to an uncontaminated corner of the Orobie: We will walk immersed in an alpine environment of rare integrity, surrounded by pastures, rocks and high-altitude woods, with spectacular views of the peaks of Valtellina and the Orobie. The highlight of the excursion is Lake Zancone, a body of water with green and turquoise reflections, nestled in a glacial basin, where the silence is interrupted only by the wind and the song of marmots. On clear days, the mountains are perfectly reflected on its surface, creating an almost surreal atmosphere. The descent, lively and fun, winds through scree, waterfalls and small streams that require a firm step and a bit of agility. We will conclude our adventure in the cool embrace of the Alpe, relaxing and refreshing our feet in the clear streams that flow through the meadows.
